Day 2: Arrival / Kyoto
In the early morning, tourists take a super-speed train from Tokyo. It takes 2 and a half hours to Kyoto. After arriving in Kyoto, they eat lunch and go to Honganji Temple near the station.
The Temple was founded in 1321 as the head temple of the Jōdō-shinshū ("True Pure Land") sect of Buddhism. The temple was built next to the mausoleum of Shinran (1173-1262), the founder of the sect. After visiting Honganji, they go to Kinkakuji, Ryoanji, where the garden with small stones is very famous, and Ninwaji Temples. Then, in the late afternoon, they go to a hotel near the station.
