Matsumoto Castle is one of only a handful of original castles remaining in Japan. Initially built in 1504, it was expanded to its current form in the late 16th and early 17th centuries. Nicknamed Karasu-jÅ (Crow Castle), itâs known for its beautiful black-and-white three-turreted main keep.
